Hey~ I’m Isabel✨
A little bit about me
I’m a Product Designer based in the San Francisco Bay Area, who worked with startups in the financial literacy and wellness industries.
As a third-culture kid and avid language enthusiast, I stand up for the user’s experience and transform clients' business goals into beautiful and effortless prototypes.
I believe that empathy, broad industry exposure, and attention to detail are my most valuable asset and effective advocacy tools in product design.
My professional journey
After growing up in New Jersey, Taipei, and Shanghai, I studied Business-Economics in sunny California at the University of California, Los Angeles. During the summer between my freshmen and sophomore year, I developed a college calculator prototype for low-income high school students to gain financial transparency and lead a brighter financial future at Moneythink.
Post-college, I moved up to the Bay Area and worked as a Senior Transfer Pricing Consultant at Deloitte. During this time, I’ve worked cross-functionally on 40+ clients ranging from the financial services, software, biotechnology, and artificial intelligence industries to consumer products, education, hospitality, and entertainment industries.
During 2022, at Ate the Food Journal, I helped users who struggle with body images keep track of their well-being efficiently and effectively through one-click logs and habit trackers. More recently in 2023, I revamped District 3’s Typeform application and website to attract higher-quality startup applicants for the company by examining a two-way integration system and balancing both stakeholders’ and users’ needs / wants through the project.
Some fun facts
I love learning languages! I’m bilingual in English and Mandarin and have an intermediate level of Japanese and French, plus I speak a little bit of the Taiwanese dialect as well.
I’m currently a blue belt in Judo and love the fact that one cannot improve/practice without the support and patience of others.
My favorite anime is Naruto, primarily because it felt like the series grew up with me.
And… last but not least, I’m a super cat mom who love my two cats Hani and Mori more than anything else! 🧡
